■ At its August 2025 policy meeting, BI surprised market players by implementing 25 bps rate cut to 5.00%, bringing BI rate to its lowest level since Oct-22 and signalling stronger support for economic growth amid manageable inflation, although IDR has been underperforming compared to other regional currencies.
■ Finance Minister Sri Mulyani confirmed MBG received IDR 24.7 tn in allocation from healthcare budget, in addition to IDR 335 tn from education. Beneficiaries include pregnant women, mothers, toddlers, and 82.9 million students nationwide. The program remains the central pillar of Prabowo’s social agenda.
■ On Monday (20/8), JCI closed +1.03% higher at 7,943.8 with foreign investors posting net buy of IDR 775.5 billion in the regular market and net sell of IDR 8.7 billion in the negotiated market.
